Instructables: Step-by-Step Collaboration
September 5, 2006 · Print This Article
Looking for something to do this weekend? Have you done so much around the house that you’re out of DIY projects? Want to know how to make something weird, odd, or unusual?
You can find solutions to any of the above at the brilliant Instructables.com, an interactive repository of inspired do-it-yourself projects.
Projects include step-by-step photos and instructions, and many photos, like those on Flickr, have “hot spots”, where the author has added commentary to describe something in the photo in detail. (Well, at least I call them hot spots. They probably have some cool Web 2.0 savvy nickname that I’m not familiar with yet.)
The Instructables site is easy to navigate, and easy to use. Find projects by keywords, most recent, groups, or search for specific projects. Create an account, and submit your own instructables projects.
